Lately I am finding a lot of books and studies on How to be Happy

I have read many articles on happiness and self help by now that I no longer desire to pick up a book or interested in reading "another" guide to living. Yesterday the TV was on in the lunch room during my break in which the Oprah Winfrey show was being broadcast. She had on another guru who wrote a book about cleansing yourself and starting to feel good from the inside and working you way to the outer self. Each time I start to investigate this new book or philosophy, I find it not to be new. That all these principles lead back hundreds to if not thousands of years but now they are just reworded or being adapted for modern times or situations.

David Lettermen on his show was speaking to a Democrat Senator about the times and how he (Dave) cant help but feel a bit in despair with all that has happen in America the last few years. And I think that is why a lot of magazines, books, and television is now pushing ideas so people will be more optimistic and feel good. Which is a good message, but it also sells so that is good for them as well.

A few weeks back I began to work on my appearance, my fitness and getting that spiritual engine running down the track. Not for society, not for an event, not for a woman - but for myself, because I want to. I have read enough articles to know where I create my own hurdles. It is easy to get caught up in the have and the have nots, how does one get the what is perceived as the good life, status, respect, admiration - but Life offers more than what we humans can offer. There is more to the World than our cultural conditioning and others reasons be happy than by peer standards. At least for me anyways.
